Work on the Swim Spa

 In an effort to help get this project going, Sue and I started doing some of the portions that we could:

1. Remove fencing where the spa concrete pad will go.

2. Install fencing needed to retain the dogs in the dog pen.

3. Design a plan and start constructing a method for the front fence/gate to be removed and reinstalled.

4. Reroute two sprinklers and drip line located in the spa pad concrete pad area between the existing pad and curb to outside of the curb.

The plan to make the two front gate posts removeable so that the spa can be brought in and removed in the future is to use this aluminum tube inside the cut posts. This tube will be squared up a bit with a 20 ton press and placed inside the posts spanning into the post underground and the above ground post. The post/tube will be fastened using bolts.

Swim Spa Plan

 We are adding a swim spa to our porch. Here is a preliminary plan.

Chase Update

 Since Chase has not been evaluated for our doggie daycare place we took Chase with us when we visited the coast at Crescent City. Chase later got to visit the Trees of Mystery. He didn't seem to mind the gondola for the SkyTrail.

New pup has joined the clan

 We picked up a Bassett hound rescue the other day and we are now in the process of dog/dog acceptance. This is the normal process of nips and growls as the new dog learns it's boundaries and the old dogs adjust.

The new (new to us, he's 12) is named Chase. Sue has been calling him Chase-it. He might pick up the nick name Chase Manhattan but, like all Bassett's, he will sometimes be called Basshole.
